Our Edmonton Support Office is looking for the right individual to fill the key role of Accounts Payable Clerk. This position is responsible for performing full cycle Accounts Payable accounting functions for all of gravitypope’s operating companies and for providing support in other areas of finance and accounting. This role requires regular interaction with other internal departments. A successful Accounts Payable Clerk should be familiar with all general accounting procedures, be very detail-oriented and have a desire to collaborate and assist other members within the organisation.

Duties and responsibilities include:
- Processing and matching a high volume of invoices in both domestic and foreign currencies
- Investigating and resolving purchase order, invoice, or payment discrepancies
- Facilitating weekly cheque runs
- Monitoring payment due dates and ensuring time sensitive payments are processed efficiently
- Reconciling accounts and related journal entries as assigned
- Performing various clerical duties such as preparing correspondence, sorting mail, data entry, and filing
The ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications:
- Minimum post secondary degree or diploma in Accounting is required
- 2+ years in a dynamic accounting environment, including experience in an Accounts Payable or similar role
- Knowledge of audit, control, and reconciliation procedures and experience in applying internal controls
- Demonstrated abilities in coordinating priorities and adhering to rigid time schedules
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Proficiency with Simply Accounting software
- Excellent numerate and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong understanding of the retail industry
