Analyst, Investment Banking | Private Capital Advisory
*This is a 100% in-person position at our office in Toronto’s financial district.

Brant Street Capital (“BSC”) is a fast-growing investment banking advisory firm specializing in private capital advisory. Since inception in late 2018, BSC has closed 150+ transactions, totalling $5B+ in transaction value.
We deliver advisory and execution services across a wide range of secondary transactions, including:
- Limited partner solutions: full and partial asset and portfolio sales
- General partner solutions: LP liquidity offerings and tenders, fund restructurings and continuation vehicles, secondary lending and credit facilities, preferred equity solutions, and structured liquidity programs
The transactions BSC facilitates involve investments in private equity funds, private debt funds, real estate funds, real asset funds, infrastructure funds, funds of funds, secondary funds and co-investments and other alternative assets.
OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our dynamic team as an Investment Banking Analyst. The successful candidate will play a key role in executing secondary transactions and providing valuable insights to meet our clients' ever-evolving needs. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in one of the fastest-growing subsegments of the capital markets and the investment banking industry, working on complex financial transactions to serve our institutional clients.
The secondary market has experienced unprecedented growth in recent history, with global transaction values growing from $3B in 2000 to $150B+ since 2024. As a part of a boutique advisory firm in this fast-growing niche, you will play an integral and dynamic role on the investment banking team and work cross-functionally across the organization.
The successful candidate will assist in servicing clients who are some of the most sophisticated institutional investors in the world.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Deal execution
- Assist the deal team to develop, present, and secure mandates
- Create investment marketing materials, detailed reports, and presentations for engagements
- Assist in the execution of both LP-led, GP-led secondary transactions and other transactions in the secondary market realm
- Manage data rooms and help prepare presentations
- Rename, redact, track, and organize transaction documents
- Collaborate with senior team members to ensure smooth deal execution and closing
Operational work
- Completing administrative and operational work
- Maintain and enter new information into the firm’s proprietary database
- Collect and track prospective institutional investors within BSC’s target market
- Manipulate large sets of information for analytical insights and business development
- Evaluate and implement new technology to assist with firm operations
- Ad hoc projects
- Improve firm operations by identifying inefficiencies

OUR REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Less than 2 years of experience. Previous internships or coursework related to finance and investment banking is a plus
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
- Demonstrated interest in finance and investment banking as a career path
- Knowledge of capital markets, alternative investments, and the secondary market
- Strong commitment and interest in growing with the firm
- Positive attitude, self-motivated, and a fast learner
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Capable of working autonomously and possessing strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively within a team
