We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting & Payroll Clerk to join our client's finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting both payroll and accounting departments with processing of accounts payable, receivables and payroll accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in various accounting software. The Accounting and Payroll Clerk will play a crucial role in maintaining employee records and supporting the overall financial operations of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Assist with processing bi-weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy in hours worked and deductions.
- Perform data entry tasks related to accounts payable, receivables and payroll including new hire information and changes in employee status.
- Analyze payroll data to identify discrepancies or issues and resolve them promptly.
- Maintain employee records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
- Generate payroll reports for management review and audits.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate reporting of employee benefits and deductions.
- 3-way matching
- Assist with preparation of aging reports
- Communicate with vendors regarding discrepancies
- Assist with processing of wire transfers
- Assist with A/R and all other accounting functions
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a clerk or in a similar role is preferred.
- Proficiency in data entry with a high level of accuracy.
- Familiarity with accounting software and payroll systems (Quickbooks)
- Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance standards is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with team members and employees.
