About Us:
Join a growing and innovative construction company in the GTA, specializing in Concrete Forming. We are looking for an experienced, well-organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Office Administrator to become a key player in our team. This part-time role offers the possibility of transitioning into a full-time position based on performance and as our business expands.
Key Responsibilities:
As our Bookkeeper/Office Administrator, you will play a vital role in keeping our financial and administrative processes running smoothly. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Accounts Payable/Receivable (AP/AR) management: handling invoicing, payments, and account reconciliations.
- Account Reconciliation: using QuickBooks Desktop and QBO, to ensure all transactions are properly accounted for, including flagging / troubleshooting invoicing discrepancies and reviewing relative financial records as needed.
- Union Dues & Benefits: managing payments, serving as the liaison for all union-related bookkeeping and ensuring compliance with union agreements.
- Finance: prepare financial reports as required by management and the company’s Accountant, track and balance company accounts ensuring financial records are accurate and up to date, and compile data and complete necessary financial reports and / or reviews as needed.
- Office Administration: general administrative tasks, including answering phones, scheduling meetings and minute taking, and managing office communications.
Qualifications:
- 2+ Years of Experience working in the construction industry (bonus if experienced in the concrete forming trade).
- Proficient in QuickBooks Desktop and QBO, with a strong ability to manage AP/AR, reconcile accounts, and reporting.
- Experience working with union dues, benefits, and general knowledge of working with Unions is a strong asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, and effectively meet time-sensitive deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, to communicate effectively with team members, managers and external service providers.
