Morrison Financial Services Limited is a private asset manager founded in 1987. Since that time, we have grown organically through the development and delivery of specialized lending products. These lending programs include but are not limited to mortgage lending for residential development and construction projects across Ontario and lending to condominium corporations / stratas for capital repairs and reserve fund shortfalls. To date, Morrison Financial has funded over $1.6B across its various programs and we expect continued growth across our business.
Role Overview
This is a full-time Analyst role located in Toronto, ON. The Analyst will review new loan opportunities, prepare credit presentations, and participate in administration. This is an on-site role.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and underwrite commercial loan opportunities across our lending programs.
- Pre-qualify new loan opportunities to ensure compliance with investment policies.
- Conduct detailed analysis on qualifying opportunities, prepare credit memos for credit committee presentations, and structure commitment letters to execute on the opportunities.
- Conduct detailed due diligence on loan opportunities prior to funding.
- Work closely with loan originator(s) to monitor the loans to ensure that the project is progressing and in compliance with the business plan.
- Assist originators to manage pipeline in CRM by ensuring all deal status metrics are up to date.
- Stay up-to-date with the competitive landscape and applicable underwriting guidelines.
- Participate in marketing and business development activities as required.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree required in business, finance, engineering, or other related fields.
- 1-2 years of experience in lending and/or real estate is a plus.
- An existing Mortgage Agent License is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting research and financial analysis.
- Superior documentation skills with keen attention to detail.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organization and time management skills to manage and meet changing priorities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and under time pressure.
- Self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit.
- High proficiency in Excel, Word, other Office products; basic proficiency in CRM systems.
