Scope of the position
The Bilingual Accounts Payable Advisor is responsible for processing accounts payable transactions in Yardi PayScan to ensure that the homes’ payables are maintained in an accurate and timely manner.
Key Activities
- To always provide an exceptional customer experience.
- Respond to inquiries from our residences
- Review invoices for discrepancies
- Review invoices sitting in workflow and follow up with approvers
- Review entry by A/P Data Entry Clerks
- Post all AP invoices in Yardi
- Prepare cheques and related supporting documents for courier and mail
- Respond to Vendor inquiries
- Follow up with vendors on credit balances and old invoices
- Prepare requests to void cheques
- Complete Vendor account reconciliations
- Support the A/P Data Entry Clerks and provide them with functional direction
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve payable processes
- Maintain work instructions for payable processes
- Respond to inquiries from Property Accounts and other internal departments as required

Qualifications
Experience:
Functional – Accounts Payable 4-6 years
Bilingualism (French) is required
Education:
Post Secondary Education with a focus on Business
Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel (intermediate)
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to multi – task
- Ability to work independently
- Strong organizational skills
- Good communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong knowledge of the Accounts Payable cycle and how it relates to finance
- Ability to supervise junior staff
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent understanding of the Accounts Payable Policies and Procedures
- Experience in a mid-to-large company preferred
- Experience using Yardi PayScan is considered an asset but not required
- Bilingualism is required (English/French)
