Adecco is currently hiring a motivated and talented Financial Accountant to join one of our clients team based in Calgary. This role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the management of our clients company’s rapid growth, working within a fast-paced and dynamic team. The position is full-time, with the option for a hybrid work schedule.
As a Financial Accountant, you will prepare financial statements, assist with ESG reporting, handle reconciliations, and generate accounting reports. You'll also work on improving processes, liaise with auditors, maintain internal controls, and mentor peers.
The ideal candidate should have a post-secondary degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Business Administration, a CPA designation (or be enrolled in the program), and 2+ years of experience in a similar role within a mid-sized manufacturing/technology environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare external reporting packages, including quarterly and annual financial statements and management discussion and analysis (MD&A)
- Assist with the annual Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) report, researching climate standards and performing related calculations
- Collaborate on ad-hoc projects to improve reporting timelines and streamline processes
- Prepare, and review, general ledger entries and conduct monthly and quarterly reconciliations, investigating variances
- Generate corporate accounting reports, analysis, and KPIs for internal and external stakeholders
- Liaise with external auditors to manage quarterly reviews and annual audit processes
- Prepare technical accounting memorandums on complex topics
- Maintain internal control processes related to the company’s financial books and records
- Mentor and coach peers, collaborate on issues, and be flexible in completing tasks
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Business Administration; CPA designation or enrollment preferred
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role, ideally in a mid-sized manufacturing/technology company
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to summarize key business issues
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word; experience with NetSuite ERP is an asset
- Must be legally eligible to live and reside within Canada.
