Job Summary
Reporting to the General Manager, the Office Administrator is responsible for the bookkeeping and general administrative duties of the Club. This position requires strong accounting skills, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to work effectively across departments and with members and guests of the Club.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining accurate financial records, including posting daily journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and overall general ledger
- Employee onboarding and maintaining employee records
- Payroll processing and administration
- Processing tax and other government remittances
- Managing financial controls and ensuring compliance with provincial and federal regulations.
- Monthly and yearly reconciliation of all accounts, working with auditors to prepare accurate financial statements for the Board and membership
- Preparing financial reports as required by the General Manager
- Fielding general customer inquiries and member queries
- Maintaining member accounts and records
- Website updates and member communication support as required
Experience
- 3+ years of bookkeeping/general accounting experience
- Proficient with technology, including Microsoft Office Suit, Accounting Software, and Point of Sale Software
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable, accounts payable, budgeting, and bank reconciliation processes.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for this role.
- Experience with Simply Accounting (Sage 50) a definite asset.
