We are currently recruiting for a Full Time Human Resources Specialist to join our Total Rewards team. As a developing HR professional, you will be the liaison between the hospital, our employees and our benefits and pension provider. Utilizing high attention to detail, you will manage the employee life cycle as well as be the point person for all inquiries as it relates to benefits, pensions, compensation and total rewards inquiries and escalations within a defined portfolio consisting of unionized, non-union and management staff. We will support your growth and exposure by involving you in initiatives and projects as it relates to Total Rewards, including Long Service Awards, HRIS enhancements, continuous process improvements, data quality and integrity audits and much more!
Reporting Relationship: Director of Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards & People Analytics
Location: Humber River Health – Wilson Site
Hours of work: Monday- Friday, flexibility required, on site
Union: Non-Union
What will you be doing?
- Accurately manage employee life cycle in accordance to hospital policies, collective agreements, legislative guidelines and procedure with a high level of attention to detail
- Provide advice and guidance to staff and leadership as it relates to benefits and pension administration, different types of leave of absences and retirement
- Review and assess claims for pervious experience and adjust employee salary as appropriate
- Support the administration and maintenance of quality HRIS data and system audits
- Manage and administer employer perks programs
- Support projects and initiatives as required
Qualifications:
- College diploma in Human Resources
- Minimum two years Human Resources experience in an unionized environment required
- Experience administering pension and benefits required
- Knowledge of payroll procedures, CRA guidelines an asset
- Strong knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Superior customer service and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to be flexible and work within tight time constraints in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work effectively and independently in a team setting with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation including Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System and Ontario Labour Relations Act (OLRA)
- Strong awareness of Freedom of Information and Personal Privacy Act, Personal Health Information Protection Act, Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act
