Position Summary
The VP of Finance for Train Gaming Studios and affiliated companies will report to the CEO to provide consulting and strategic support to the executive team and hands-on execution of key processes. This position supports all financial responsibilities for the Studio, including strategic financial planning and analysis, analyzing monthly close results, monitoring and analyzing performance KPIs, new business opportunities, and other projects as requested. This function will support the finance team and support optimal business decision-making.

As VP of Finance, you embrace automation (AI) to streamline mundane tasks and devote time and resources to higher-value, strategic activities. You will make informed decisions that drive profit-creating business activities instead of acting as a gatekeeper and number cruncher. You need to be part analyst, part strategist, part futurist, part collaborator, and ALL business. You want to be the leader who can modernize and transform business systems and operations to improve productivity. You want to be the leader who can adapt to the new rules and tools to keep this company ahead of the competition.
Some of the key things you will be responsible for include, but are not limited to:
- Own the continuous management of cash flows, banking relationships and structures. This includes support for customer collections, supplier payables, foreign exchange, and investment opportunities.
- Provides leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
- Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts.
· Understanding software license fee models, revenue share pricing structures, and other gaming revenue models.
· Gathers data and interprets market conditions; identifies business opportunities and global trends in the gaming industry.
· Engage in business negotiations and provide feedback and detailed status report updates.
· Supports implementation plans, meeting milestones, action, and delivery dates; provides regular status reporting and flag issues.
- Adopt new metrics for operations and valuations.
- Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization.
- Evaluates and advises on the impact of long-range planning, the introduction of new programs/ strategies, and regulatory action.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives to identify their needs and seek a full range of business solutions.
- Provide backup to HR and payroll functions
- Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business decisions.
- Manage processes for financial forecasting, budget consolidation, and reporting to the Company.
- Provide recommendations to enhance financial performance and business opportunities strategically.
- Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and that financial and tax reporting complies with applicable federal, provincial, and international regulatory laws and rules.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in progressively responsible leadership roles in financial planning & analysis or accounting, including at least 3 years of management experience.
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting is required, and a CMA designation is preferred.
- Proficient with QuickBooks.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Etc. You need to be an Excel power-user.
- Superior analytical and financial modeling skills, with the ability to succinctly interpret data for executives and frame business issues in a straightforward manner.
- Experience with general accounting principles and procedures (GAAP), financial forecasting techniques, extracting appropriate financial elements from business deals/contracts, compiling and presenting financial reports, spreadsheets, and database applications.
- Strong project planning and organizational skills.
- Outstanding communication, influencing, and relationship-building aptitude.
- Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile.
- Monitor all open legal issues involving the company and legal issues affecting the industry.
- Construct and monitor reliable control systems.
- Maintain appropriate insurance coverage.
- Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of government agencies.
- Occasional travel as needed.
