About the role

As an VP People & Culture, you’ll be responsible for overseeing and ensuring excellence in all aspects of the People & Culture function at WCG. As a strategic and tactical People business partner, the VP P&C provides counsel, develops roadmaps and executes on all People & Culture related initiatives. The VP P&C drives all cultural initiatives, performance management, talent acquisition, engagement and retention, learning and career development, and workforce planning. The VP P&C provides strategic counsel to CEO and Operations team on Total Rewards including benefits, payroll and compensation, People Systems and Operations aspects related to People. Additionally, the VP P&C will champion Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging within the WCG culture and support an emotionally-intelligent, innovative and high performance workplace where diverse perspectives are embraced and people-first-principles thinking is encouraged.
What you’ll do
- Customer Satisfaction & Relationships: Ensure satisfaction with P&C support and services, foster collaborative relationships, and create a positive onboarding experience.
- Financial Performance/Results: Contribute to achieving strategic goals, surpass budget targets, and meet hiring objectives while maintaining low turnover.
- People Management & Engagement: Enhance employee engagement, clearly communicate WCG's brand, and promote a positive, goal-aligned culture.
- Operational Performance & Outcomes: Attract and retain top talent, and develop strong leadership capabilities across WCG.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, manage risks effectively, and maintain credential and security standards.
- Leadership Resiliency: Adapt to workload demands, promote well-being, and prevent burnout within the leadership team.
- Strategic Leadership: Lead P&C strategy development and execution, partner with senior leaders, and drive organizational design and change management.
- Culture & Engagement: Uphold WCG core values, monitor morale, and lead initiatives that promote a positive work culture and high employee engagement.
- Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging: Champion inclusivity and diversity, develop culture initiatives, and implement strategies for EDIB and wellness.
- Capability & Workforce Planning: Align workforce planning with organizational goals, assess talent gaps, and lead succession planning.
- Organizational Learning & Development: Drive leadership development, enhance employee skills, and foster a culture of continuous learning.
- Performance Management, Rewards & Recognition: Oversee performance review processes, manage compensation strategy, and drive recognition initiatives.
- Talent Acquisition & Retention: Develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies, continuously improve the onboarding process, and monitor key talent metrics.
- Governance & Compliance: Ensure regulatory and contractual compliance, lead investigations, and manage risk effectively.
- Occupational Health & Safety: Promote a safe work environment, lead OH&S initiatives, and address health and safety concerns proactively.
Qualifications
What you bring
Education Requirement:
- CPHR or equivalent designation
- Bachelor-level degree and/or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Experience Requirements:
- 15+ years of progressive and hands on Human Resources and People experience, with a minimum of 5+ years leading People/HR/Talent teams at a national level
- Strategic thinker able to deliver on tactical and operational issues; This is very hands on role that requires building and developing capabilities in a high growth and complex setting with a small, but high performing team.
- High level of confidentiality; employment contingent on Security Clearance – Reliability Status
Preferred:
- Experience working in a company with a similar or larger size, ideally with 500+ employees.
- Proven track record of managing a team with direct reports.
- Demonstrated ability to oversee and manage large departmental or organizational budget
- A minimum of 15 years in a leadership role within People & Culture, Human Resources, or a related field, preferably Health, Human Resources Services or Social Services industries
