Role Description
The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for processing, tracking, and managing incoming payments and invoices. This position involves ensuring that clients are billed correctly, payments are posted, and discrepancies are resolved promptly. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Invoicing and Billing: Prepare, issue, and send invoices to clients in a timely manner. Ensure accuracy in billing and adherence to contractual terms.
- Payment Processing: Record and process incoming payments (checks, electronic transfers, credit card payments) and apply them to appropriate accounts.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts receivable balances with customer statements to ensure accuracy.
- Customer Communication: Communicate with clients regarding outstanding invoices and payment schedules. Address and resolve any billing discrepancies or disputes.
- Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all transactions, including payments, invoices, and adjustments.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the finance and sales teams to ensure alignment on invoicing, collections, and reporting.
- Audit Support: Assist in the preparation of records and documentation for financial audits.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and legal regulations.

Person Specifics and Qualifications
- 3-5 years of previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a construction environment
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrates initiative and perseverance
- Detail-oriented
- Excellent decision making and problem solving skills
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
