Consequently, we are looking for a skilled individual who can optimally analyze our financials in a way that proactively responds to customer and market needs. Anchor Danly is looking for a full-time Sr. Accountant to assist the Finance department at the Corporate Head Office in Windsor, Ontario. In this full-time permanent role, the successful candidate will report to the Accounting Manager and will be responsible for assisting that position with various financial and accounting functions.
Duties include:
- Responsible for the creation and filing of monthly, quarterly and annual US Sales Tax
- Various month-end close activities - prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, etc.
- Coordination and preparation of the monthly plant financials and operations reporting package
- Participate in financial performance results with budget vs. actual variance analysis
- Intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Accrued and Prepaid Transactions
- Capital asset tracking
- Annual budget assistance
- Cheque and EFT review and signing
- Payroll back-up support
- Support various audit engagements - answering questions and providing back-up when required
- Other assignments, duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications include:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Accounting or Finance
- At least three (3) years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Strong computer skills (Excel, PPT)
- Knowledge of data analysis and forecasting
- Well organized with ability to prioritize
- Detail oriented and strong analytical skills/problem solving ability
- Ability to perform well in high pressure situations and meet strict deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
