We are a privately held owner operated professional services company in the North York area. Currently we are seeking an outgoing Payroll Administrator with dynamic communication and problem-solving skills who can grow with our fast-paced organization. The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for processing full cycle payroll accurately and efficiently for 800-900 hourly and salaried staff on a bi-weekly basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in administering field staff and in building on a great employment culture.

Job Duties
- Payroll information management by reconciling staff payroll to scheduling system reports; checking calculations noting errors and the causes of any miscalculations
- Prepare, process and reconcile full cycle payroll for about 800-900 Ontario hourly and salaried staff using ADP Workforce Now payroll system, ensuring compliance with company and federal and provincial regulations and guidelines
- Provide good customer service, answer questions and requests from staff and management and solve problems relating to payroll information via phone and email
- Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings and deductions
- Prepare and submit journal entries and complete government forms
- Reconcile payments made to employees, i.e. vacation pay, expense reimbursement etc.
- Process periodic commissions, vacation pay and bonus payments
- Calculate and reconcile employee deductions and payments to taxation authorities
- Balance bi-weekly payroll and assist in preparation of monthly financials / dashboards
- Update payroll information status on employee files on a timely basis
- Protect confidential payroll information and maintain employee confidence
- Track payroll record changes by entering updates in employee information
- Year-end payroll processing & T4 generation and process periodic ROE’s as required
- Provide assistance with payroll information for year-end audit and government reconciliations
- Publish annual payroll calendar and assist with testing payroll platform upgrades
- Stay current with all regulations, practices, tax laws, reporting requirements
- Perform other duties as required in the course of normal business operations.
Requirements
- Designation as a Payroll Compliance Practitioner or Certified Payroll Manager required
- Minimum 2 years hands on payroll experience in a fast-paced environment
- Wide ranging experience with payroll systems for high volume of employees
- Knowledge of Workforce and (ADP) – an asset
- Proficiency in reporting and reconciling full cycle payroll
- Strong knowledge of federal and provincial payroll regulations and requirements
- Knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, tax laws, and reporting requirements
- Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Dependability in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills such as pivot tables and VLOOKUPs in particular
- Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data
- Ability to adapt to and learn new software
- Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
- High level of critical and logical reasoning to identify underlying reasons or facts to solve payroll issues
- Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines

Pay: $48,684.25-$80,185.17 per year
