We are seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to maintain financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of accounting principles and proficiency in accounting software. Excellent attention to detail is required. Familiarity with Law Society accounting requirements is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
Duties
- Maintain accurate financial records
- Day-to-day bookkeeping, including accounts receivable and payable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
- Bank, cheque, and mail runs.
- Assist management in maintaining the company’s financial health.
- Assist management and lawyers in complying with Law Society general and trust accounting requirements.
- Data entry and document digitalization.
- Respond to Law Society audit requests.
- Work with our accountants to ensure excellent bookkeeping and Law Society compliance.
- Prepare standard and legal accounting statements.
Experience (required)
- Proficiency with Windows, Quickbooks, and Microsoft Office
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Familiarity with account reconciliation and budgeting processes
Experience (preferred)
- 5-years or more experience as a bookkeeper, preferable at a law firm.
- Experience working at a law firm.
