Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, as well as proficiency in various accounting software. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation and maintenance of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, including invoicing, collections, and payment processing.
- Perform account reconciliation to ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
- Conduct financial auditing to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft for efficient financial management.
- Prepare detailed reports on financial performance, variances, and forecasts for management review.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that support operational goals.
- Assist in the development of budgets and financial plans to guide strategic initiatives.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Proven experience as an accountant or in a similar role within the finance department.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software applications; experience with QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with accounts receivable, accounts payable, account reconciliation, and financial auditing processes.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
