Job Summary
The candidate should be willing to relocate to San Rafael/San Francisco, California. We are seeking an experienced Automotive Dealership Controller with a strong background in accounting, dealership financial management and a thorough understanding of the automotive industry to work in-person at Marin Mazda dealership.
Duties:
- Prepare complete and accurate financial statements in accordance of manufacturer requirements and established timeframes
- Manage the day-to-day accounting operations of the store to ensure that all transactions are recorded in compliance with company accounting processes and policies
- Develop and maintain effective cash management system and keeping the general manager, business managers and corporate management informed on the accounting trends
- Payroll calculation and processing in accordance with compliance requirements.
- Ensure compliance with dealership policies and standard operational procedures and manufacturers requirements
- Develop and maintain an effective cash management system
- Provide department managers with timely and accurate financial and management reports.
- Perform reconciliations of the general ledger, bank, reserve, factory payable and floor plan accounts
- Oversee and reconcile all AP/AR accounts and transactions
- Manage business office staff and ensure an efficient workflow of all accounting and DMV duties
Qualifications
- Must have experience working as a Dealership Controller
- Strong background in corporate accounting and financial report writing
- Proficiency in cash management and accounts payable/receivable
- Knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting standards
- Experience with balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting
- Familiarity with software such CDK
- Understanding of SOX compliance and IFRS standards is a plus
Compensation: Annual Salary of $125,000.00 - $130,000.00 (USD) per year
