Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with expertise in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and budgeting. The Financial Controller will play a crucial role in strategic planning and decision-making, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Review semi-monthly payroll submission
- Handle more complex payroll emails & answer questions from staff members
- Review monthly billing
- Review monthly AR
- Review deposits
- Review monthly bank reconciliation
- Review monthly prepaids amortization
- Review monthly PPE amortization
- Match bank transactions in QB Online
- Prepare monthly Financial Statements
- Prepare monthly Key Performance Indicators (“KPI”) report
- Prepare monthly cash flow documents:
- R&Ds
- Bank Account Deposits
- Historical Volume
- Review employee utilization
- Review quarterly portfolio analysis
- Manage weekly estate account cheque issuance
- Leases & Rent, review and ensure the schedule is kept up to date, help coordinate renewal or move plan (if needed)
- 3rd party reports and payments (if required), ABR, CDIC, Employer Health Tax, WCB, GST
- Insurance (Crime & Commercial & Professional & Cyber)
- Associates, provide monthly/quarterly information when required, distribution cheques
- Contractors, review monthly timesheets, submit monthly timesheets to Contractor
- Prepare year end information for accountants
- Vacation approvals for various departments (accounting, tax, TEMs, department heads)
- Review remote calendars to optimize resources and adjust according to client demand
- Take up administrative duties of absent employees and ensure workflow continuity
- Moving of work/ ensuring work is covered for employees who are sick/away
- Overseeing various departments
- Keep documents and processes up to date
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role within a corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Experience with budgeting, account analysis, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $80,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
