The Junior Accountant contributes to the overall success of the organization by assisting the Controller with the financial responsibilities. Working in collaboration with and reporting to the Controller, the Junior Accountant performs a wide range of financial and related duties.
Key Accountabilities
· Ensure monthly & year-end financial reporting is completed in a timely manner to ensure accurate financial reporting
· Payroll Administration: Process payroll on a bi-weekly basis and prepare annual T4s, assist responding to employee inquiries and other payroll reporting as needed.
· Prepare account/bank reconciliations
· Review and process expense reports
· Assist with preparation and coordination of the audit process
· Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures
· Accounts payable – process invoices and ensure vendors are paid in accordance with vendor terms
· Accounts receivable – invoicing, receive customer payments and maintain customer account reconciliations
· Assist with preparation of Health Canada / CRA reporting as required by the Controller
· Liaise with IT Managed Service provider as needed
· Office administration duties as required (onsite vendor coordination, filing, monitoring business phoneline, etc.)
Experience and Education
· 3+ years of experience in an accounting function
· Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
· Proficiency in relevant accounting software (Sage & Payworks)
Competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities)
· Competence in a computerized environment and the use of Microsoft Office applications
· Well organized, analytical and accurate, with the ability to multitask
· Strong team player with the ability to conduct work with confidentiality and professionalism
· Self-starter with the ability to identify problems and then develop and implement solutions
· Ability to communicate (verbal and written) efficiently and professionally with all levels of staff

Pay: $40,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
