HR pros Inc. is currently recruiting for a Controller on behalf of one of its client, Wilsons Group, a long-established and growing company expanding into new businesses, operations, and markets on the South Shore of Nova Scotia!
The primary focus of this position is oversight of the Accounting & Finance Department including the accurate reporting, maintenance, and strategic interpretation of financial information. Areas of responsibility include oversight of accounting and reporting, forecasting and strategic planning, oversight of company investments, fleets, and insurance, and maintaining relationships with outside stakeholders including banks and other financial institutions, CRA and other government agencies, insurers, vendors and suppliers, etc.
The successful candidate will have solid attention to detail, problem solving, logical thinking, and analytical skills. They will be able to work independently, be able to work under pressure yet maintain superior customer service and be able to quickly learn in a self-guided manner. Most importantly, they are not afraid to get their hands dirty and pick up a broom if that is what is required at that moment.
The successful candidate will possess:
· An undergraduate degree in accounting or finance
· Possess their CA, CPA, or CMA designation
· Have an understanding corporate financial law and risk management practices
· An understanding of tax
