About the Position
This is a hybrid work arrangement (minimum 3 days in the office). As the Staff Accountant you will be responsible for completing client files, preparing financial statements, bookkeeping, and preparing personal and corporate tax returns. Additionally, you will be responsible to complete mandates for multiple clients with limited supervision and takes responsibility for detail-oriented requests.
Summary of Responsibilities

Perform bookkeeping duties, including;

Prepare and adjust journal entries

Review of bank reconciliations
-
Calculate depreciation income tax accruals and reconcile inter-company accounts

Prepare and file Notice to Readers
-
Prepare tax returns (T1, T2 & T3) including tax and regulatory forms (T4, T5, EHT, HST & WSIB filings)
-
Effectively work with CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) directly on tax issues
-
Understand technical standards with the expected level of assistance and supervision
-
Recognize relevant financial statement issues from basic analysis
-
Respond effectively to client requests

Provide suggestions related to an assignment or project
-
Other duties, as required
Summary of Experience
Requirements:
-
College degree
-
Working knowledge of CaseWare/Jazz-it, Tax Prep and Xero
-
Proficient in QuickBooks, Work, Excel and Outlook (desktop and online)

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate with external clients

Possess strong organization and file management skills
