As an Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining financial accounts within your assigned portfolio. This position reports directly to the Accounting Manager and involves both routine tasks and opportunities to exercise initiative, particularly in reconciliations and billings.
Responsibilities
- Maintain customer accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to billing schedules.
- Issue billings and prepare manual invoices and credits as needed.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve invoice discrepancies promptly.
- Process customer credit/re-bill adjustments in a timely manner.
- Apply daily payments accurately and promptly.
- Reconcile customer/vendor accounts regularly and resolve any outstanding issues.
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue invoices to facilitate timely collections.
- Maintain comprehensive customer/vendor files and documentation.
- Assist in vendor rebate calculation and ensure timely payments.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and support balance sheet reviews.
- Assist with the monthly close process, including journal entries and intercompany reconciliations.
- Handle other duties as assigned to support departmental goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years equivalent work experience.
- Solid understanding of general accounting principles, with at least 2+ years of experience in bank reconciliations, revenue recognition, and posting journal entries.
- Prior experience in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or health insurance industries is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to solve problems effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally across all levels of the organization.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently as well as part of a team.
