In this role, you will act as a key business partner to several departments including Procurement, Supply Chain, Commercial Finance, Master Data, and Transportation. You will ensure the integrity of standard costs for raw materials and full goods (produced and purchased). You will also ensure that material master data and sourcing matrix information is accurately collected and submitted, and variances are reviewed. Lastly, you will play an important role in collecting, analyzing, and reviewing the costings for new and existing products as well as contribute to monthly forecasting, reporting, and annual business planning.
- Maintain standard costs related to Bill of Materials (BOM), sourcing matrix, marketing credits, activity rates, and purchased full goods
- Perform standard cost validations, analysis, and audits to ensure accuracy of material master data, sourcing matrix, and BOM, and implement corrective actions as needed
- Validate cost accounting-related information on new material master data created for innovations and coordinate with concerned teams when corrective actions as needed
- Ensure costing is updated timely and accurately and communicated as needed to relevant stakeholders
- Review and analyze SAP cost rolls to identify and correct any inaccurate information and to estimate inventory revaluation
- Ensure accuracy and reconcile cost of goods sold in the different systems used by Coke Canada such as SAP, Anaplan, and sales reporting
- Perform month-end and year-end closing functions that pertain to cost of goods sold and purchase price variances such as journal entries, forecasting, reporting, analysis, and account reconciliations while maintaining the integrity of the financial reporting process and financial controls
- Develop weekly reporting that allows us to identify any potential errors in standard costing
- Perform and provide volume/price/mix analysis, financial impact analysis, and change analysis of standard costs
- Participate in preparing the annual budget and ensure costing is updated timely and accurately
- Maintain highest level of confidentiality concerning supplier pricing and costing structure
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
- 1+ years of experience in accounting or finance
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products including advanced Excel functionality
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Very strong organizational skills
- Strong communication skills
- Flexibility to adjust workload and hours when necessary
- Strong SAP technical knowledge in MM (Materials Management), Product Costing, FI-CO (GL/AR/Inventory/AP), and CO-PA (Controlling - Profitability Analysis) is an asset
- Cost accounting experience with SAP experience is an asset
- CPA is considered an asset
