Role: Under the general supervision of the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of our growing finance department. You are a professional senior accountant comfortable with the full range of Accounting cycle duties and responsibilities. You are a team player, often described as a coach, who has superior communication skills when dealing with individuals both inside and outside the organization. You have meticulous attention to detail, are highly organized and have a passion for process improvement and leveraging technology. You are a self-starter and team-player with the ability to handle multiple job responsibilities, set priorities, problem solve and work with all levels of staff while appreciating the responsibility of meeting tight and conflicting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Primary contact for the Business and Member Services Team as well as our Technical Team to facilitate onboarding and maintenance of new and existing clients and responding to their queries
- Weekly/Monthly Clients Premium and Claims Invoicing
- Broker commission reconciliations / analysis
- Accounts payable and receivable entry functions and processes
- Bank account and credit card reconciliations, deposits and cash management
- Cash Reserve Statements
- Filing and remitting statutory tax returns (Federal, Provincial and Corporate Taxes)
- Assist in preparation of the month end working papers and analysis for the Executive Team.
- Member Health Spending Account maintenance
- Respond to internal and external Client Inquiries
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Commerce or Equivalent.
- 5-7 years of relevant senior accounting experience
- Working towards your CPA designation, Second year or higher
- 3 to 5 Years of relevant Quickbooks Accounting Software experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer-centric approach
- Experience researching & documenting accounting issues and recommending solutions
