About the Opportunity:
We are currently expanding and have an open opportunity for a full-time Finance Coordinator to join our team at our new Campbell River office.
As the new Finance Coordinator, you will be reporting directly to our Corporate Manager, and you will play a key role in the company’s daily administrative functions. Your tasks will involve establishing systems and processes in the finance role, bringing our company data up to speed, managing the daily finance tasks, tracking information with a high-level of organizational management, and handling data entry and finance administration.
Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Accounts Receivable - Generating customer invoices with necessary backup, tracking payments, and collecting outstanding payments.
- Accounts Payable - Tracking, inputting, and filing both vendor invoices and purchase receipts, sending remittances, and making vendor payments via online banking.
- Payroll - Prepare and track payroll and benefits data.
- Credit Card and Fuel Card Reconciliations.
- General data entry, bookkeeping, and records keeping.
- Manage Business license renewals, insurance, and WorkSafe status.
- Creating financial reports that reflect the organisation’s financial performance.
- Providing the third-party accounting team with information and support.
About You:
To qualify for this position, you will need to demonstrate adequate corporate finance, accounting, or formal bookkeeping experience. In addition, this role requires a Valid Driver’s License.
The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:
- Proficiency in finance and bookkeeping software such as Quick Books Online.
- Proficiency in navigating and updating Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets.
- Experience with maintaining finance systems and processes.
- Knowledge of Canadian finance standards and compliance.
- Ability to compile and manage digital documentation effectively.
- Familiarity with payroll tracking and budget overviews.
- Great organizational skills and effective task management.
- Willingness and capability to create and document processes and operating procedures.
- Ability to identify needs and opportunities for improvement.
