We are looking for an Accounting & Payroll Assistant to join our team at King Drywall Systems Ltd. in Bolton, ON. Currently, it's a part-time position with an opportunity to extend employment to full-time and benefits after 3-6 months, depending on our business and candidate's performance
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Weekly payroll: enter hours and projects in Excel and Wagepoint - at least 20% of work
- Accurate bookkeeping in Knowify and QuickBooks online, save files as required
- Data entry in Excel for projects
- Post journal entries at QuickBooks (payroll - every week)
- Manage bank transactions at QuickBooks
- Oversee the payroll shared mailbox and respond to inquiries within pre-defined SLAs
- Communicate with employees promptly regarding any items that may impact their pay
- Prepare different statistical, financial and accounting reports in Excel
- Assist in preparing monthly Union remittances (we work with 5 unions).
- Assist in preparing quarterly WSIB remittances
- Assist in preparing Monthly HST remittances
- Track the amount of payroll to start remittance of EHT on time.
- Monthly invoices and bills, accounts payable and receivable
- Assist with Health and Safety documentation/policies.
- Fill in necessary different forms when required for new projects.
- Prepare and maintain performance reports for the company.
- Conduct appropriate audits to ensure data integrity and report to Directors and Department Managers.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- College Degree and/or PCP designation (pending PCP is accepted, but completed certification exams are required); a combination of work experience, high school diploma and/or accounting/payroll courses.
- Experience in processing full-cycle payroll is preferable
- Strong attention to detail is a must.
- Minimum 1 year related experience
- Wagepoint. Knowify, Oracle software - an asset
- Strong skills in MS Excel, Outlook, Word
- Previous experience with QuickBooks Online
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, tight deadlines, under pressure.
- Experience Working with Unions, Labour cost calculation - an asset
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Experience in a small business environment preferred.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Able to work in a team environment and work well under pressure and strict deadlines
- Personal suitability: accurate, dependability, flexibility, reliability, able to follow instructions , do repetitive work.
