Full Job Description
The successful applicant will have formal accounting education matched with at least 5 years of experience in a complex accounting environment, preferably Property Management, with the ability to multi-task.
This candidate must be able to analyze all accounting transactions including Accounts Payable, Accounts
Receivable, Bank Reconciliations and cash transactions & Journal Entries,
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure that all transactions are recorded correctly in accordance with the accounting principles and in correspondence with the law
- Be able to function in a multi company environment
- Work closely with the financial controller
- Keep up to date with the new legislation
Accounts Payable
- Proactively ensure bills are accurate
- Post and Prepare Payments
- Reconcile Vendor Accounts
- Prepare Intercompany invoices & Management Fees
Payroll
- Prepare Bi-weekly timecards, send to head office for final processing
- Post Bi-weekly Payroll JE
Bank
- Reconcile credit card payments / bank statements
- Post transactions in Spectra & QuickBooks
Government Reports and Remittances
- HST (monthly)
- WSIB
- Payroll Source Deductions
- Employer Health Tax (monthly payments if necessary, and Yearly Reports)
