Nestled between the vibrancy of Liberty Village and the shores of Ontario Place, the Toronto Event Centre (TEC) is a year-round, world-class anchor venue of Exhibition Place – Canada’s largest entertainment and business events site which attracts over 5.5 million annual visitors; and home to Toronto FC, the Argonauts, Toronto Marlies, and more.
We are currently searching for a Human Resources Coordinator to join our HR team. Our ideal candidate brings experience in HR from the hospitality industry who possess excellent organizational and administrative skills, with an ability to multi-task, and most importantly someone who brings a sense of fun into their day to day tasks and interactions.
HR functions may include but not limited to: recruitment, onboarding, performance management, HR programs and best practices (e.g., Occupational Health and Safety Act, Employment Standards Act, Human Rights legislation), terminations, all while developing and maintaining positive working relationships with unit leads.
The HR coordinator will participate in the administration and implementation of HR departmental functions.
Job Responsibilities Include the Following:
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards
- Assist with all internal and external HR related inquiries and requests
- Maintain records of personnel-related data (payroll, personal information, leaves, turnover rates, etc.) in both paper and the database and ensure all employment requirements are met
- Administer full recruitment cycle and staffing process
- Process pre-employment and onboarding documentation and update records with new hires
- Schedule meetings, interviews, training and development, etc.
- Initiate and maintain company employee communication
- Assisting with the day-to-day efficient operation of the HR team
- Answer telephone and effectively respond to all inquiries
- Produce and submit reports on general HR activity
- Assist supervisors in performance management procedures
- Liase with other departments or functions
- Interact in courteous and professional manner with all clients, guests, employees and community members
- Models the company's culture, vision, mission and core values at all times
- All other duties as required
Education and Skill Requirements Include:
- Must have 2+ years progressive experience in HR
- Previous education and/or experience in hospitality is preferred
- CHRP/CHRL designation is an asset, but not required
- Full understanding of HR functions and best practices
- Detail oriented with superior organizational and administrative skills
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Previous administration job experience and familiarization with MS Office Software is required for this role
- A proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work as part of a team, but to be responsible for individual projects
- Previous experience in a similar capacity within another event company is an asset

Pay: $40,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
