Accounts Payable Specialist
Our client in the transportation industry is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join the Accounting department. This candidate will be reporting directly to the CFO.
Responsibilities:
- Cultivate and enhance relationships with vendors and suppliers by ensuring timely payments and fostering effective communication channels.
- Manage multiple vendor accounts while adhering to company policies and procedures to maintain compliance standards.
- Process regular requests and expense reports promptly and accurately.
- Conduct thorough review, coding, and processing of vendor invoices, ensuring precision in financial transactions.
- Perform data entry tasks associated with accounts payable to maintain accurate records.
- Address and reconcile any discrepancies in invoices in a timely manner to ensure financial accuracy.
- Audit and manage credit card bills in accordance with company guidelines.
- Respond promptly to vendor inquiries, resolving issues effectively and professionally.
- Facilitate cheque issuance, obtaining necessary signatures as required.
- Generate and distribute reports to relevant departments as needed to support decision-making processes.
- Proactively investigate and resolve any irregularities in outgoing payments, maintaining financial integrity.
Requirements:
- Possess 4-5 years of comprehensive experience in managing the full Accounts Payable Cycle.
- Ideally hold an Associate degree or equivalent qualification.
- Proficient in MS Office suite, particularly Excel, with advanced skills in v-lookups and pivot tables preferred.
- Familiarity with Karmak software is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Exhibit excellent time management and organizational abilities, with the capacity to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in financial transactions.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of managing potentially challenging interactions with clients.
