POSITION: Virtual Bookkeeper (yes, this means you get to work from home!)
HOURS: This is a permanent position. Entails a minimum of 20 hours a week to start and may grow closer to full-time over the next year. We do require someone who is available at some points during regular business hours Monday to Friday. If you are only available evenings and weekends, please do not apply.
LOCATION: Your home office in Canada.
NOTE: We are looking for someone overqualified for this opening. If you want your cover letter to stand out, say something about your vast experience as a qualified full-cycle Bookkeeper.
EDUCATION: You have certified training in a full cycle bookkeeping course (not just “portions” of the bookkeeping process).
REQUIREMENTS: You must have experience supporting a leader in a fast-moving environment. You are self-motivated, very organized, super smart and used to getting more done than the people around you. You also have a proven ability to design and implement processes and to bring the organization to chaos.
You have experience with all or many of the following programs:
- QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, Sage, Receipt Bank, Xero, CloudFresh and/or other cloud-based app-software
- Microsoft Excel
- Outsourced Payroll Providers: Ceridian, Payworks, ADP, Payweb etc.
- POS Retail Systems (i.e. ACE, Squirrel, etc.)
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- A/P
- A/R
- Payroll and remittance
- Tax collection and remittance (GST, PST, HST etc.)
- Budgeting
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Receipt entry (data entry)
- Posting transactions
- Daily cashouts
- Financial reporting
