Job Title: Accountant

Summary:
This position manages day-to-day accounting processes and staff activities in the areas of general accounting.
Time Utilization:
This position may travel up on occasion for the purposes of training. Normal business hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm. Schedule needs to be flexible to accommodate financial schedules and deadlines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Include the following, other duties may be assigned:
- Responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of internal financial statements and reporting to parent company for use in global consolidation, including oversight of all aspects of general ledger including posting of journal entries.
- Ensure monthly revenue is properly recognized in compliance with IFRS standards and ensuring accuracy through Project Gross Margin Controlling process (Ensuring Projects are profitable, within expectations and guidelines, and entered into SAP correctly).
- Participate in the annual audit process.
- Act as a technical subject matter expert with regards to SAP support and technical expertise in analyzing/resolving FI/CO and SD issues/inquires.
- Be actively involved in IT projects (ex. S/4 HANA implementation and other future upgrades).
- Be an active student of Multivac, our industry, our partners, our suppliers, and our competition.
- Participate in Multivac Canada corporate initiatives as requested.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and five years’ experience in accounting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Solid organizational and project management skills with the ability to establish priorities, set clear deliverables and multi-task under tight timelines and within a fast-paced and ever changing environment.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present technical information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
An excellent command of the English language with effective written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
Math Ability:
Proficiency in mathematics to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume as well as the ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry to problem solving.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a high proficiency SAP, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), as well as in Contact Management software and Database software.

Current valid driver’s license.
