We are looking for a bookkeeper with the following qualifications:
Education: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred. A degree will enhance your chances of securing this position. Additionally, professional certifications like CGA will improve your standing for this position.
Bookkeeping Experience: Previous experience in bookkeeping or a similar financial role is required. An understanding of financial transactions, basic accounting principles, and various bookkeeping software applications is required. Previous experience in a similar industry, such as retail or consumer products, can be an added advantage.
Knowledge of Bookkeeping Software: Proficiency in popular bookkeeping software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage is preferred.
Attention to Detail: Candidates need to be highly detail-oriented. They must accurately record financial transactions, reconcile accounts, and spot errors or discrepancies. Strong attention to detail helps ensure that financial records are accurate and reliable.
Organizational Skills: Candidates need to be well-organized and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. They should be capable of handling financial records, receipts, invoices, and other important documents in an orderly manner.
Analytical Skills: Candidates need to analyze financial data, identify trends, and generate useful reports for management. Strong analytical skills help in identifying financial patterns, making informed decisions, and providing valuable insights for the company's financial health.
Communication Skills: Candidates will often work closely with other departments, colleagues, and external stakeholders. Excellent communication skills will allow effective collaboration.
Ethical Conduct: Candidates will have access to sensitive financial information, so integrity and ethical conduct are crucial. Maintaining confidentiality, following accounting standards, and adhering to ethical guidelines are essential qualities for this position.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 14 – 21 per week
