About The Job
The Accountant will engage in diverse accounting functions, offering experience and skills in all areas of the accounting cycle and month-end closing processes. They will manage financial records, prepare and analyze financial statements, ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, provide financial advice and participate in budgeting and forecasting activities. Your excellent organizational skills, attention to details and a "can do" attitude are critical qualifications for this role.
Location: Accounts will work from office location
Work Hours: 8am to 4:30pm
What You Bring to the Table
- 2-3 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience
- Pursuit of Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation
- Proficient in QuickBooks and Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
- Proven problem-solving skills with a high level of autonomy
- Ability to manage priorities and meet tight deadlines
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability
- Strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude
- Precision and attention to detail
- Experience in construction and manufacturing industries (preferred)
A Day in the Life
- Manage billing, credit, and collections
- Perform daily bank reconciliations
- Generate daily operational reports
- Oversee supplier portal activities
- Reconcile and submit federal and provincial sales taxes
- Prepare and post monthly recurring journal entries
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts
- Assist in the preparation of year-end working papers
- Ensure all business transactions comply with accepted accounting principles
- Contribute to the enhancement of accounting processes and internal controls
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and analyses
- Assist with various accounting projects as needed
- Other duties as and when assigned
