The Machining Group’s (MG) GFW Technologies (GFW) is seeking an Accountant to join their team. This position will be responsible for the everyday bookkeeping for GFW.
Job Purpose: The accountant is responsible for recording daily financial transactions, invoicing our clients, payroll, and assisting in month-end for the business. They will maintain and file requisite documents for government compliance, monitor cash flow and produce financial reports to assist managers in making strategic decisions.
Major Responsibilities
- Process payroll including reconciling and maintaining all payroll related general ledger accounts.
- Responsible for all government remittances (HST, EHT, WSIB).
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Prepare and submit invoices to clients and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
- Ensure accuracy of all financial transactions.
- Posting journal entries.
- Monitor and track expenses.
- Assist with month-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Assist in preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Maintain the general ledger.
- Assist in the development of policies and procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with federal, province and local legal requirements.
- Miscellaneous office requirements.
Qualifications/Skills:
Qualifications:
- Proven work experience as a Bookkeeper/Accountant or in a similar role.
- Diploma in Accounting, Bookkeeping or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years in a similar role.
Skills:
- Basic accounting knowledge and understanding of accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
