As a member of the Bird Construction Team, the Accounts Payable Analyst will support the Industrial Finance group, Project Managers and Coordinators with timely and accurate project cost processing and reporting.
This position is based out of Mississauga or Sudbury.
What You Will Be Doing
- Oversee and manage accounts payable processing for multiple industrial projects.
- Address and resolve payment inquiries.
- Organize accounts payable (AP) files and maintain records as needed.
- Forward supplier invoices to the central processing unit.
- Communicate with vendors to correct invoice discrepancies.
- Investigate and resolve invoice processing issues.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate creation and receipt of electronic purchase orders.
- Validate the accuracy of electronic data entries.
- Ensure smooth and efficient invoice processing, resolving any issues promptly.
- Reconcile supplier accounts to guarantee timely and accurate payments.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with key suppliers.
- Assist with the design and implementation of improvements to accounts payable processes and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What We Are Looking For
- Post-secondary educational background in Accounting or Finance/or relevant experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the construction industry, project-based environment, or similar accounts payable role is preferred.
- Strong computer skills.
- Strong organization, time-management and decision-making skills.
- Ability to multi-task, manage a fast-paced ever changing environment, and meet strict deadlines.
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to re-prioritize tasks to meet deadlines is required.
- Adaptable with a strong work ethic.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to work well with others in a team environment and contribute to the team in an efficient, effective, and positive manner.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, maintain focus and be an out of the box thinker and problem solver is required.
- Knowledge of software applications such as Viewpoint / OnBase would be an asset.
