OverviewAs a Bookkeeper at Mahone Marine and her sister companies, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial records and ensuring smooth day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and have experience in bookkeeping for small businesses. Duties
Ø Maintain accurate financial records for the business, including accounts payable and receivable
Ø Process and reconcile bank transactions and credit card statements
Ø Prepare financial reports and assist with budget forecasting
Ø Manage payroll and related taxes
Ø Coordinate with vendors and clients to resolve billing or payment discrepancies
Ø Ensure timely filing of taxes and other compliance-related documentation
Ø Assist with month-end and year-end financial close
Ø Handle any other financial and accounting tasks as needed
Qualifications
Ø Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
Ø Strong Knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping software (QuickBooks, LightSpeed)
Ø Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Ø Strong understanding of bank reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable
Ø Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ø Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while meeting deadlines.
Ø Strong analytical skills with a focus on accuracy in financial reporting.
Ø Familiarity with general accounting principles and practices is essential.
Ø Strong Communication skills to interact with clients, vendors and team members
Ø Experience in in payroll and tax filings is essential
Ø Diploma in accounting or finance is preferred
Ø Living local will be an asset
