Position Summary
A leading employer has tasked TRITAN Group Recruitment with finding an Accounting Clerk to join its Edmonton-based team. The Accounting Clerk will track and evaluate day-to-day accounting activities and develop and implement the systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting information. Roles and responsibilities
- Perform accounting processes and activities on Business Central Enterprise Resource Planning.
- Performs daily and periodic accounting processes such as accounts payable, cheque runs, accounts receivable, cash receipts, general ledger entries, and variance analysis as needed.
- Set up wire transfers using the CIBC CMO system, prepare cheque deposits, GST reporting and monthly submissions.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data, which are crucial in producing financial reports.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Perform periodic bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Maintains and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
- Effective and with external stakeholders, employees, managers, and owners.
- Human Resources support duties- setting up new employees in Dayforce, issuing ROE, administering benefit/ insurance
- plans, managing vacation schedules, and overseeing vacation balances.
- Biweekly Payroll processing using Ceridian Dayforce and PowerPay.
- Reception duties: Answering main phone lines and placing orders for office supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting and payroll.
- Proven bookkeeping knowledge and general accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
- Proficient in MS Office and knowledge of Business Central ERP system.
- Strong professional communication, both written and verbal.
- Great attention to detail and Strong analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with a focus on prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Perform other duties as requested by the management team.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.
- An accounting diploma is considered an asset.
- Payroll certification and payroll experience are assets.
