ABOUT THE POSITION
Enthusiast Gaming is looking for a full-time Bookkeeper who may work remotely, but must live in the Greater Toronto area of Ontario, Canada and be available for in-office meetings on occasion. Reporting to the Finance Manager, and working as an integral member of the Finance team, the Bookkeeper will support all of Enthusiast Gaming’s North American entities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reconcile cash accounts, recording and balancing financial information in a variety of ledgers with high transaction volume and foreign exchange
- Support, prepare, and post journal entries
- Balance and maintain accurate ledgers (monthly balance sheet reconciliations)
- Enter cash receipts from accounts receivable collections
- Enter cash payments and reconcile vendor accounts
- Enter cash disbursements in banking platforms
- Handle banking transactions such as making deposits, assisting with cash flow management, etc.
- Support day-to-day accounting such as payroll
- Assist with period tax filings including HST and Corporate taxes
- Assist month-end and quarter-end closing procedures
- Assist with reports for senior management
- Assist with the annual audit and quarterly review process
- Respond timely to requests for information from customers, various internal departments, and other stakeholders
- Help implement changes to improve efficiency of finance processes and procedures
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2 years of accounting and/or finance experience
- Experience working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas
- Experience working with different online banking portals such as Scotia Bank and/or BMO Harris
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to extract data, mine data, and manipulate large volumes of data
- Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Word
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to provide written and verbal communications relevant to the audience
- Highly analytical, detailed oriented, and organized approach to work
- Strong time management skills with experience successfully planning, prioritizing, and executing on multiple tasks / requests
- Proactive, results-oriented self-starter with a “can do” attitude and the willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and needs
- Willingness to come into the Toronto office on occasion
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency with Google Sheets and Gmail
- Experience as a Bookkeeper
- IFRS knowledge
- Experience using NetSuite
- Degree in a relevant business or accounting field
- An understanding of payroll
