About The Role
Health Standards Organization (HSO) is looking for a Payroll and Benefits Administrator reporting to the Payroll & Benefits Lead - Financial Services. The Payroll and Benefits Administrator is responsible for managing the full cycle payroll, benefits and pension administration functions with accuracy in a timely manner, ensuring integrity of processes, confidentiality, and the appropriateness of data and systems for the enterprise.
The right candidate will be ambitious, detail-oriented, analytical, determined and ready to dive in and juggle the many competing priorities. You have an eye for numbers and will not shy away from juggling multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Administer full cycle bi-weekly and monthly payrolls related functions including calculation validations, updates and verification of employee date and payments, and ROE productions.
- Administer payroll related year-end duties, including preparing T4s and Relevé 1.
- Administer corporate group benefits program for all members, ensuring accurate benefits deductions, record maintenance, and monthly remittances.
- Administer corporate pension plan for all members, including pension contribution calculations, record maintenance, and monthly remittances.
- Ensure compliance with the enterprise’s policies/processes/guidelines as well as government legislation.
- Provide accurate and timely information to employees and 3rd parties (e.g. CRA, Ministry of Finance, Revenu Quebec, external auditors, HOOPP and Canada Life).
- Collaborate with the Talent Management team in the administration of payroll and benefits as required.
Must Have Qualifications
- Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) Designation.
- 3-5 years of experience in payroll, benefits and pension administration.
- Proficiency in payroll systems, Excel and benefits administration portals (e.g. Dayforce, Canada Life Group Net and HOOPP Insight).
- Excellent organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills with extremely strong attention to detail.
- Having accountability and taking ownership. We want to hear examples of times when you stepped up, took ownership, and ran with it, whether big or small, as a professional.
Desired Qualifications
- Are familiar with the health care environment and the role of best practices.
- Experience working with in Dayforce payroll systems
