Cape Breton Beverages, a family-owned Pepsi bottling franchise, has proudly served Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia since 1949. Alongside our sister company, Trans-Atlantic Preforms, established in 1989, we employ over 100 dedicated individuals on Cape Breton Island. We locally bottle Pepsi, 7-Up, Schweppes, and Crush soft-drink products and distribute other beverages including Aquafina, Montellier, Bubly and Evian waters, along with Gatorade, Dole, Lipton, Starbucks, Guru, Rockstar and Celsius beverages. Additionally, we bottle specific packages of Pepsi and other branded soft drinks for the Maritimes, Quebec, and Ontario.
As part of the Pepsi family, we are committed to delivering high-quality products and exciting brand campaigns to our customers. Through our subsidiary, Downeast Vending, we also provide full-service beverage and snack vending throughout Cape Breton Island.

What You’ll Do
As a member of the Office Accounting Team, you will play a key role in the smooth financial operation of our facility by managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and procurement processes. The ideal candidate will bring strong financial acumen and operational expertise to support our business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations
- Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.
- Accurately and promptly process invoices, ensuring all approvals and documentation are complete.
- Record journal entries and support general ledger maintenance.
- Monitor outstanding AP/AR balances and work with the sales team to resolve billing and payment issues.
- Reconcile cash transactions to ensure financial accuracy.
- Contribute to month-end and year-end close processes.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations.
Operations Coordination
- Assist with ordering, shipping, and receiving for raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods.
- Manage the point-of-sale (POS) system to ensure accurate reporting.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, accounting, and inventory management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (an asset).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Proven experience with inventory and financial reconciliation.
