Director of Finance who will play a pivotal role in shaping our financial strategies and ensuring our commitment to excellence. This is an exciting opportunity to drive compliance and financial integrity in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Financial Reporting: Spearhead the preparation of our annual (10-K) and quarterly (10-Q) reports, ensuring adherence to company policies, US GAAP, and SEC regulations, including XBRL compliance.
- Monthly Close Management: Oversee the monthly financial close process, ensuring accurate account recordings, preparing reconciliations, journal entries, and insightful reports. Analyze trends and proactively address any discrepancies.
- Audit Oversight: Direct the annual external audit and quarterly review processes, ensuring a seamless experience and compliance with all requirements.
- Contract Review: Evaluate clinical and R&D agreements to ensure proper accounting treatment and alignment with financial standards.
- Collaborative Internal Controls: Partner with cross-functional teams to design and implement robust internal controls over financial reporting, fostering compliance and accuracy.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and manage a dedicated team of analysts, fostering a culture of growth and high performance.
- Ethics and Integrity Champion: Contribute to and promote a strong culture of business integrity and ethics throughout the organization.
- Versatile Contributions: Take on additional responsibilities as needed, adapting to the evolving needs of the organization.
Requirements
- Professional Designation: CPA required.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of eight years in finance or a related function, with a demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams effectively.
- Industry Insight: Experience in the life sciences sector is a plus.
- Bilingual (French and English). A good level of written and oral English is required to communicate effectively with employees and partners from outside Quebec including our office in the United States with whom the interaction is constant.
