Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Manage Accounts Receivable and Sales processing, including cash application and reporting.
- Conduct inventory analysis and monthly reconciliation of in-house inventory reports with the general ledger.
- Perform physical inventory reconciliation and reporting biannually.
- Execute monthly reconciliations of general and inter-company accounts, resolving variances through investigation and communication with various internal teams.
- Prepare and file GST/HST returns, withholding tax, and corporate taxes.
- Handle cash application and bank reconciliations, including daily and weekly cash management.
- Develop cash forecasts.
- Run month-end expense allocations.
- Analyze and submit financial statements using the internal financial system.
- Collaborate with multiple departments to address accounting issues.
- Communicate the financial impact of corrections and accruals to relevant departments.
- Identify gaps and implement process improvements, using root cause analysis and the PDCA method to meet KPIs and goals.
- Recommend and establish policies and procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency in accounting.
- Foster collaboration and communication with cross-functional teams.
- Provide training on internal systems as needed and requested by management.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or in the final stages of completion is highly preferred.
- Over 5 years of relevant experience in a fast-paced environment, particularly in automotive or manufacturing sectors.
- Proficiency with accounting systems, preferably Oracle.
- Strong skills in MS Office, especially Excel (including pivot tables and data analysis).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with suppliers and internal teams.
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
