YOUR DAY TO DAY
- Leading and mentoring the finance team to ensure they are skilled and knowledgeable about current financial practices while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Developing and overseeing financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts.
- Assessing the financial impact of business initiatives and investments.
- Conducting financial analysis and providing financial insight to support strategic decision-making by the executive team.
- Monitoring and analyzing financial performance against key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Working closely with the operations team to align financial and operational metrics.
- Preparing accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of the company's strategic goals and initiatives.
- Supporting business growth through financial planning and investment analysis.
- Fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Develop talent within the finance department to support the company's growth.
- Communicating financial performance and strategies to stakeholders and board members.
- Building and maintaining relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and business advisory bodies to implement changes within the organization
- Utilizing technology to improve financial processes and reporting.
- Implementing and maintaining effective internal controls.
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and industry standards.
- Working closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, innovation, and standardization.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA or Master's preferred).
- Professional designations such as CPA, or CFA required.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in the manufacturing industry, food and beverage experience considered an asset.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with ERP systems is beneficial.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and legislation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
