One of our clients is seeking a Financial Controller at Mississauga, ON location.

Shift : Day

Pay rate : $160k - $175K

Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership

Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports for senior management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
Develop and refine financial strategies that align with the company’s long-term objectives.
Lead strategic initiatives, including system implementations, process optimizations, and other projects aimed at improving financial performance and operational efficiency.

Budgeting and Forecasting

Spearhead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with the company's goals.
Provide comprehensive analysis and recommendations to senior leadership to support informed decision-making.
Oversee the creation of financial models to analyze future scenarios and guide strategic planning efforts.

Financial Operations and Compliance

Ensure financial operations adhere to regulatory standards, internal policies, and industry best practices.
Manage risk by overseeing internal audits and safeguarding the integrity of financial data.
Lead the consolidation of financial results, ensuring compliance with GAAP, IFRS, or other relevant standards.

Team Leadership and Development

Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
Implement effective recruitment, training, and retention strategies to build a skilled and engaged finance team.
Promote collaboration between finance teams and other business units to ensure cohesive financial planning and reporting.

Data Analytics and Business Intelligence

Champion the use of business intelligence tools and data analytics to enhance financial decision-making.
Oversee the enhancement of financial systems and ERP integrations to improve reporting capabilities and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a master’s degree or professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, ACCA) is preferred.
A minimum of 10 years of financial management experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role within a complex financial environment.
Expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to develop high-performing teams.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with keen attention to detail.
Advanced proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and business intelligence tools.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
