We're looking for a mission-driven Shipper/Receiver who is passionate about creating more accessible, inclusive, and equitable communities across Canada where people with low vision have unlimited opportunities and can experience life free from barriers and discrimination.
Your Impact at CNIB
- Monitor and respond to TOPDesk courier and shipping requests, including providing estimated courier or postal rates
- Commit to professional and exceptional customer service
- Ensure all customer inquiries are handled in a professional and timely manner and when customers are redirected to another staff, ensure customer is not left without service
- Process various courier/shipping requests through the TopDesk Portal, including outbound couriers, return labels, request for shipping quotes, return shipments
- Prepare packages for shipment while utilizing appropriate courier software
- Provide backup support for Warehouse courier requests
- Prepare and email day-end shipping manifests to warehouse for Canada Post Expedited parcels and provide backup support for warehouse day end shipping manifests for Purolator shipments
- Troubleshoot on issues involving missing, damaged shipment with major carriers
- Proactive in working with account reps to resolve any shipping issues
- Update status for all incoming daily requests in TopDesk by end of day
- Assist in sorting incoming mail, place mail in designated mail slots. Run postage meter mail when backup support is needed
- Run the month-end postage meter and courier reports for analysis by Property staff
- Assist team when primary receiver is unavailable, to receive and document all incoming couriers. Answer door ringer at Dock and direct courier drivers
- Record all incoming cheques addressed to Accounts Receivable and deliver same to AR desk
- Review weekly Purolator courier invoices, provide information for all 3rd party Purolator shipments via the CNIB account
- Review weekly courier invoices and follow up on missing information to assist applying correct cost allocation
- Assist with ordering shipping and office supplies from various vendors
- Assist with other mailroom specific duties as needed
- Distribute incoming faxes daily
- Room bookings as requested
- Coffee services - monitors and request replenishment as needed
Requirements
Who you are:
Education and Certification
- Secondary School diploma
- Requires 2 years of relevant experience
Experience And Qualifications
- Requires 2 years of relevant experience
- Physically capable of performing the essential duties of the job and lifting up to 50lb due to the heavy nature of some parcels and deliveries
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Interpersonal skills and relationship-building
- Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset
- Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset
Work Environment
- Union position, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day) including a 30min lunch break and two 15-minute breaks
- Work with minimal supervision
