As the HR and Payroll Supervisor, you will be the main point of contact for our employees across Canada, the US and UK. You’ll report to the VP of Finance and work closely with the Management Team on all matters of HR, payroll and recruitment.
This role is based out of our Richmond Hill office.
Responsibilities
- Payroll preparation & processing for Canada, USA, and UK
- Maintain employee files and ensure that all employee information is up-to-date and accurate
- Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
- Employee support (HR & Payroll questions and requests)
- Manage the application process, including screening resumes, conducting initial interviews, and coordinating interviews with hiring teams.
- Facilitate the recruitment process by scheduling interviews and managing candidate communications.
- Conduct background checks and reference checks on potential employees
- Onboarding and offboarding support
- Stay updated on payroll legislation, best practices, and company policies to ensure compliance
- Support various employee engagement activities and initiatives
- Assist with HR projects and initiatives as needed.
- Ad Hoc projects and other administrative duties (e.g. preparing letters)
- Other duties as required by management
Qualifications
- You are eligible to work in Canada (Citizen, PR or Open Work Permit valid for min 12 months)
- Able to work onsite 100% in Richmond Hill, Ontario
- 1-3 years of experience in an HR role, payroll role or a related field
- You have formal HR and/or payroll education (e.g. certificate in HR, PCP certification, bachelor’s degree in human resources or industrial relations), or equivalent work experience
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize effectively
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with ADP Payroll is an asset
- Knowledge of Ontario, US, and/or UK employment laws is an asset
