We are looking for a skilled Payroll Administrator to support our Payroll Supervisor in managing payroll processes efficiently and accurately. This role involves handling a variety of administrative tasks, managing data, responding to payroll-related inquiries, and ensuring all payroll operations align with company policies and procedures.
Contract : 6 weeks
Hours : 9am to 5pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with processing semi-monthly payroll for salaried, hourly, and commission-based employees using ADP Workforce Now.
- Verify and audit timesheets to ensure completeness and accuracy of work hours.
- Generate payroll reports and maintain employee payroll profiles as directed by HR.
- Prepare and distribute tax forms and employment records promptly.
- Manage provincial worker’s compensation payments and perform reconciliations.
- Ensure proper processing of short-term disability and vacation payouts.
- Support the annual reconciliation of CPP, EI, and EHT.
- Address payroll-related inquiries and ensure compliance with current regulations.
- Stay informed on payroll best practices and legislative updates.
- Perform additional payroll duties as required.
Qualifications:
- College diploma or university degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting (preferred).
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification is required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in payroll; familiarity with ADP Workforce Now is preferred.
- Solid understanding of payroll procedures and tax laws, with experience managing inter-provincial payroll (BC, AB, ON, QC).
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and email communication.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
- Bilingual (French/English) is a plus.
- Ability to organize and document procedures with precision.
- Strong attention to detail, multitasking ability, and excellent data entry skills.
- Strong analytical and mathematical abilities, with a positive and collaborative work ethic.
- Capable of handling sensitive issues with professionalism and discretion.
