About The People Ops Specialist Role
Float is looking for a rockstar People Ops Specialist to join our People Team, reporting into Float's SVP, People & Talent to support our growth by assisting with key People, Talent and Office operations and initiatives. This is a true generalist role where you will work on nearly every aspect of the employee lifecycle at Float. If you truly enjoy all aspects of human resources, are known for being a go-getter and "GSD", then this could be the role for you!
In this role, you'll be responsible for:
- Talent Acquisition - supporting our Talent Team to provide an outstanding candidate experience, by assisting with interview scheduling, job description creation, internal recruitment process optimization as well as background checks
- Program Support - assisting with key People programs and initiatives such as, but not limited to, performance & development, employee engagement, total rewards and learning & development
- Employee Experience - serving as the first point of contact for general HR inquiries, employee questions, general guidance across the organization, as well as educating Floaters on new People programs, initiatives and processes as they arise
- Workplace Experience - Ensure daily operations in the office are running smoothly; Floaters are well fed, hydrated, they have the supplies they need, tech is working and guests are welcomed
- Employee Events & Communications - organizing company events, virtual and in person (team events, socials, company events, all hands), writing employee communications and creating presentations
- Managing Total Rewards - day to day administration of all aspects of total rewards (payroll, benefits administration, compensation, equity etc)
- Employee Lifecycle Management - Onboarding, new hire check ins, employee changes, offboarding,
- Data, Systems and Reporting - ensuring all People related systems, data and reporting are up to date, accurate, optimized and automated
- Compliance - maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting the People function and ensure our guidelines, policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance
- Special Projects & more - as required
Requirements
You'll be great in this role if:
- You've got the experience. You're a high performing People professional with 1-2+ years of People Ops experience in a high growth startup environment. You've been at a scaling company and want to do it again.
- You're an amazing teammate. People feel comfortable coming to you for support and to answer employee questions. You provide amazing employee experiences by forming genuine relationships throughout the company
- You're obsessed with your craft. You truly love what you do and every part of the employee lifecycle. You love learning and growing, and you take each experience and build those learnings into your work.
- You're driven and action oriented. You have an extremely strong work ethic and approach each situation with energy and enthusiasm. You strive to excel in every aspect of your work. - You're a strong communicator. You draw people in with your compelling verbal and written communication. You are an intent listener, incredibly insightful and can articulate those hard to pinpoint details that others miss. You are also comfortable sharing your ideas, suggestions and feedback openly and are a huge fan of radical candour
- You're a critical thinker. You are able to take in a lot of information and have excellent judgment. You can connect the dots and help people understand the impact of various decisions. You aren't a box checker and go beyond the standard questions to get a greater understanding
- You have superior attention to detail. You pride yourself on thoroughness and accuracy. You are a stickler for detail, especially when it comes to anything legal or data related
- You're an owner. You love a challenge, and take great satisfaction in tackling them head on. You love taking on any task (big or small) and driving it through to completion.You are also comfortable making independent decisions and following your instincts to be able to move quickly
- You're tech savvy. You love data, reporting and are comfortable managing HR systems (HRIS, payroll, benefits)
This role won't be a fit if:
- You don't love coming into an office IRL (2-3 days/week)
- You don't have a strong work ethic
- You don't love being social and getting to know everyone on the team
- You don't like to roll-up your sleeves
- You don't have a high sense of urgency and drive
- You are not a self-starter or resourceful
- You get easily frustrated
- You aren't ridiculously organized and efficient
- You aren't a problem solver
- You aren't extremely detail oriented
