We are looking for a meticulous and organized Bookkeeper to manage our financial records and ensure the smooth operation of our accounting processes.
Job Description:
As a Bookkeeper you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day financial transactions, and assisting with financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of bookkeeping practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, including coding, entering, and paying invoices.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions.
- Prepare and process payroll, including calculating employee hours and ensuring timely payment.
- Manage and reconcile petty cash and cash flow.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements.
- Make monthly HST and payroll remittance
- Communicate with vendors, clients, and other stakeholders regarding financial matters.
- Assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Maintain organized and secure financial files and records.
- Utilize accounting software QuickBooks to input and manage financial data.
- Perform account reconciliations
- Assist Controller when needed
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Accounting
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification such as Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or similar.
- Experience in handling payroll and tax compliance.
