OPPORTUNITY
The Revenue Coordinator will report to the Manager of Property Accounting, Real Estate. The individual will be responsible for maintaining accurate tenant account information, tenant collections and reporting and analysis on accounts receivable. Outside of finance, this role will have the opportunity to interact closely with Leasing, Property Management, and Asset Management teams.
The successful individual should have property accounting experience and be familiar with the real estate industry. The successful candidate will be driven for growth; that enjoys working in a fast-paced environment; can efficiently prioritize and work under timelines and manage multiple stakeholders; is detail and process oriented with a high sense of ownership in their work; and has a strong foundation in accounting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and record tenant rent and other charges
- Maintain tenant accounts receivable to ensure prompt payments of charges
- Be responsible for cheque deposits and other cash management objectives
- Coordinate directly with tenants for payment and other inquiries
- Generate and review monthly arrears dashboard for senior management review
- Collaborate with the team for tenant coordination of CAM recoveries
- Assist with year-end audit processes and other ad hoc tasks as required
- Identify and implement process improvements across different areas of scope
Requirements
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or other relevant technical discipline
- Experience with working with accounts receivable in the real estate space, asset management experience is an asset
- High attention to detail, understanding of accounting principles, commercial leases and related documents
- Strong customer focus with excellent relationship building and a collaborative working style
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to communicate effectively with clients
- Experience with Yardi or other real estate centric ERP is an asset
